Rep. Barry Loudermilk revealed that Speaker Mike Johnson plans to formalize a new select committee to continue investigations into January 6, focusing on security failures and the actions of the previous committee, particularly Liz Cheney. The new committee would give Republicans more control over appointments and direction.
President Biden recently issued pardons to several individuals involved in the January 6 investigation, including Liz Cheney and Dr. Anthony Fauci, to protect them from potential retaliation by a future Trump administration. However, legal experts note that these pardons don’t shield recipients from testifying under oath or facing consequences for perjury.
