Work is an inevitable part of life. Most people will find themselves working at some point, often for the majority of their lives, trying to make ends meet and support themselves and their loved ones.
Ideally, a job would be something you’re passionate about, but for many, it’s just a way to pay the bills. This can be especially true for those in school, where a first job might be far from the dream career they envision.
Do you remember your first job? Perhaps it was something you were excited about, or maybe it was just a way to get by. A transgender employee at Starbucks recently opened up about how their current job is far from their dream role.
In a video shared on Twitter, this Starbucks worker, visibly upset, recorded themselves in the stockroom during their shift. They voiced frustrations with their manager, the schedule, the customers, and the lack of a union. The worker also expressed distress over being “misgendered” by customers and the challenge of balancing long work hours with being a student.
